Papers, 1776-1911.

Correspondence, bills, receipts, invoices, and other papers, of various members of the Biddle family. Some relate to merchandise imported from Liverpool, Birmingham, and Sheffield, England. Other letters, written from the firm of Thomas Biddle and Co., in 1863, to Alexander Biddle while he was in military service at Fort Wayne, concern land holdings of Biddle's father, Thomas, in the Middle West. These letters also refer to loans made to the Federal Government. In addition to Biddle family members John Horn, Jr., Ralph Peters, Mark Willcox, and Henry J. Williamson are represented in the collection.
